Most probably you are in disconnected mode ( plug button on the main screen).
Ok, duplicate, sorry.

Re: AvNav - navigation in the browser

Need help with AvNav and Seatalk1 (ST).

Loaded image "2023-04-27-avnav-lite.img" to an RPi3.
(SignalK 2.8.3), (AvNav 20240616). All Apps and Plugins are updated.

Connected GPS and AIS to USB ports and Seatalk to GPIO4

SignalK read and decode all data, included ST witch are available in the SignalK Data Browser, and in the SignalK WebApps.

On Avnav, the GPS and AIS are displaied as expected, no ST data.

SignalK to nmea is configured as in the Signalk app documentation.

The AvNav Server Status, PluginHandler / system-Sail_Instrument "present: LAT, LON and calculated data, but "no AWS, no TWS, no DFT".

Any help is appreciated

Re: AvNav - navigation in the browser

On AvNav images the normal data flow is NMEA->AvNav->SignalK.
There is by default no data flow from SignalK to AvNav.
So you would need a connection for NMEA from SK to AvNav to be configured with filtering ro avoid loops.
So in AvNav add a SocketReader to localhost:10110 and set a filter to only allow the data you receive via ST.
As an alternative you can allow decodeData in the SignalkHandler.
This will still create a loop but due to the priority handling in AvNav this should be ok.

Thanks, a new SocketReader fixed it.

Re: AvNav - navigation in the browser

Hi Andreas,

We were out at the weekend and had some curious behaviour regarding waypoint arrival. A number of times we got the waypoint arrival popup but the waypoint did not advance. We had no easy way of getting it to go to the next waypoint apart from editing the route then clicking on the next waypoint then go to that waypoint. Probably we are not using it correctly.

Also the track recorded for the days sailing partially disappeared. We reversed the route part way through due to time. The outbound route track then progressively disappeared and left the inbound route tracks. Which then also disappeared. Is there a way to show the tracks overlayed on the chart?

Cheers

Re: AvNav - navigation in the browser

Andreas,

Never mind I found the tracks and I can now see I have to add it as an overlay to the chart I want. It would be great is the tracks were named for the route they come from or NoRoute is one is not being used. It would make finding and managing them a lot easier.

Cheers
