Axiom: options to upload Navionics charts to MFD

I'm betting there are already threads on this that I missed but....

We just upgraded to an Axiom display and from what I'm seeing, the only way to create charts on a laptop/tablet and get them to the display is ejecting the SIM card, manually copying the GPX files and returning the card to the display. We're using Navionics charts on the Axiom. Is there a more (ahem) networked method to get the routes over to the Axiom?

Cheers!

Re: Axiom: options to upload Navionics charts to MFD

Good question, same for me. I manually transferred a GPX file of a weather routing exactly the same way: eject the chart SD card, copy the GPX file to it, reinsert it into the Axiom (+) and then import the route from the SD card.

I don’t see an option to import a route from the Axiom’s network connection, but that sure would be a handy feature. Does anyone have a hack to do it?

Re: Axiom: options to upload Navionics charts to MFD

I came across this thread while looking to answer the same question. I did find another source if anyone is still looking for a way to transfer routes from the Navionics app on an iPad to the Axiom MFD. It's backwards intuitively but you have to wirelessly export from the iPad app to the MFD card then update your charts from the card. I just uploaded an 18 day trip and it worked perfectly.
