ENC charts are covered in the same exact areas as the BSB charts. But they fit seamlessly together if the software chooses to do so. Fugawi will let you make an unlimited number of map sets. You can load all the ENC maps at one time (I do) or just load a few in a named set you create. They load a bit quicker if you don't load all 575 at once. Once loaded they seem to perform about the same once you zoom into a chart at a scale you might really use.

Just FYI to all who answered my naive questions.

Went off to the Toronto International Boat Show this week, and it turned out the folks who sell Canadian e-charts were having a sale -- the Lake Ontario set, including the Welland Canal and the Erie Canal, for $135, regular $150.

Came with MapTech software, so I thought it was a bargain.

So that settles that.

Great show, BTW. Some lovely new boats, and some very neat ideas.
