Charts for the Pacific

Hi, I am about to head South on my first journey across the Pacific in March of this Year. Like everyone, we have very limited funds and I am wondering if anyone has any old or even new charts laying around from seattle to Vanuatu? I am looking for the west coast, polynesia, anything really. Thanks!

Check out the free downloadable goodies from NZ - they may be covering some of the areas you need.

Then there are the free US charts that you can download and print.

NZ charts exist also in kap format (hand calibrated) for use in OpenCPN and SeaClearII.

There are some pretty good broad area charts out there that would be OK for you. Two or three of them would cover the whole Pacific. Use them as a backup and rely mostly on your navchips.

That isn't the best method but it is the cheapest.

These will work with the NavPak demo available online. It is freeware for traditional navigation or as a chart viewer.
