Compass on Steel Boat Coachroof
On my centre cockpit steel boat, the steering unit is mounted to the bulkhead - I do not have a separate pedestal.

I am now looking to install a compass like this one.

Is it feasible to mount this directly on the (steel) coachroof, and compensate it adequately? Has anyone ever seen such an installation?

the compass on my steel boat is mounted above the companionway and is compensated and it works perfectly

did you have to get a professional in to compensate it?
