Compensation of Suunto Compasses

Hi all,

I have recently bought a steel yacht with 2 Suunto D 135 compasses on board. I need to get them adjusted and corrected. I cannot get useful info out of Suunto and I cannot find any professional adjusters where I am based (in Izola, Slovenia, near Trieste - Italy). Anyone got any advise on how to correct/adjust these compasses or how to locate professional adjusters ? All suggestions more than welcome !!

Mick.

Greetings and welcome aboard Mick.

Have you looked at the Suunto Downloads page (their out of production D-135-K is included)?

Hi GordMay,

Yes, and have been in contact with their help desk. So far I have not found diagrams on how to open up compass and get at the adjustment mechanisms.

Since I posted this thread Suunto have been in contact and have promised to give a solution soon.

Thanks anyway for your suggestion.

Mick.
