discontinued Garmin chart-plotter

Hello, I have a Garmin GPSMAP 3206/32107 with the coastal Bluechart g2 installed, these units are discontinued and I haven't been able to find updates. I need to get worldwide charts, I called Garmin and they want me to buy a new chartplotter. Does anyone here know if I can install worldwide charts on these units and make it work, they work just fine. Thank you.

Secondary market like eBay is only source for charts and most aren't up to date. I bought some used Bahamas charts for my 3210, they were terrible, no details and off by a mile. Good luck. I bought a Garmin 74dv, with Bahamas preloaded for under $500. The newer Garmin charts for Bahamas are the best, oh yeah Garmin still sucks.

I talked with Garmin rep. soon after they quit using the proprietary chart cards about what us 3206 plotter users could do to get new/different charts. Their suggestion was to get one of their writable chips and send in to Garmin and they could make up custom chips. The writable chips used to turn up on Ebay occasionally. That's been a while ago so would want to talk with Garmin to see if they can still do that with the old proprietary chips.

Have West Canada/Alaska, Mexico and Texas to New Orleans chips that I might be induced to sell if you are interested and even my 3206 as a backup.
