Documentation for Colombia

Hi guys, just curious if anyone knows whether or not U.S. Coast Guard registration would be good enough for the officials in Colombia or do I need the original?

Re: Documentation for Colombia

Do you mean USCG Documentation? Most countries will accept USCG Documentation (certificate).

Yes, someone told me that for some reason in the western Caribbean they want to see original documentation or something like that. Me I have always thing that as long as its USCG documented anywhere is fine, but he mentioned Panama and Nicaragua would give me problems and that Colombia could be the same.

Re: Documentation for Colombia

The current, original (not-a-copy) USCG documentation and a current passport for each person onboard and a zarpe (exit clearance) from the last port, is typically what you will need for Central American clearances.

Re: Documentation for Colombia

This is what I have know for most of the Caribbean all along, yet I was arguing with this guy about what is considered an original and what's not. Thanks so much guys.
