GARMIN BLUECHARTS

Am I right in thinking these Bluechart cartridges are obsolete? I inherited some of east coast USA with our last boat now sold, on our new boat we now have a new Garmin network with a 4210 plotter/display that has pre-loaded G2 charts. We also have a G2 Vision cartridge fo the new network for Florida a Eastcoast and can see that this is a different style to the bluechart ones.

Isthere any value to these old bluechart cartridges or shall I just dump them.??

Re: GARMIN BLUECHARTS

I have the little MicroSD version of thier blue charts that works in my GPS60CSx. It is very outdated at this point as far as hazards, but the basics do not seem to have changed much. I use it for kayak fishing as there is no fear of grounding with only a 4" draft.

Is yours the larger cartridge type?

But am I right in thinking that they will only work with older Garmin plotters? THE labels say 'BLuechart Data Card' pre-programmed Marine Data Card.. I cannot load them into anything to see what they contain, but I believe they cover from Chesapeake to the Bahamas, plus a 64MB blank data card. and were used on a 200 series or 3000 series plotter without pre-loaded charts dating from before 2010.

You are a nice guy. The old chips are selling Ebay for between $60 and $120 depending on area covered. Non US chips bring the best prices.

Re: GARMIN BLUECHARTS

Me and Ebay along with Twitter & facebook do not mix well, so I'll settle for being thought 'nice'! Maybe I will need some engine rebuild advice sometime.
