i JUST STARTED CREATING CHARTS FOR CARIBBEAN USING LATEST VERSION OF GE2KAP. NOTICED THAT GE2KAP CREATED FILES ARE MUCH MORE GRAINY THEN GE IMAGES.
ANY WAY WE CAN FIX IT PLEASE.

At what height/zoom do you create the chart?

GE2KAP.V30.0.8.0 is now available. Found in the previous version if you had the language of windows not set to English you could not use GE2KAP to do quilting on Sasplanet.
Also now to do quilting you must have GDAL installed which a fairly simple process. The help explains how to do it.

I have a new test version of GE2KAP that is specifically designed to speed up creating Quilted charts from SasPlanet. Up to now GE2KAP would start a download on SasPlanet and then just twiddle its thumbs waiting for the download to complete.

In this new version I have divided the work up into 3 (sometimes 4) tasks that can run concurrently. Also, it can invoke more than one download on SasPlanet to run concurrently. If you are creating a chart with a layer there will be two downloads running. If you are creating more than one chart there will be another two downloads.

If you are interested in testing it download and install from the following link. Be aware it will act differently than the previous versions. After you reply to the number of charts message it will resize the SasPlanet window and put Ge2KAP window beside it, see screenshot below. Here is the link:

I have problem with ge2kap v30.080
The polygon/path is grayed out and I could not get it to work. Reinstalled all related apps but nothing changed.
Pls help:

GE2KAP.V31.0.0.0 is now available. For users creating quilted charts from SasPlanet it will use multiple tasks and invoke multiple downloads on SasPlanet to increase performance.

I've created a new version that fixes a few minor problems. Also it now uses two tasks to create non-quilted charts from Google earth. This will give a performance improvement of a few seconds per chart which could be significant depending on your Internet speed.

GE2KAP.V31.0.2.0 I have created a new version that has the support for all SasPlanet Maps and Layers (but only one at a time). But I have not yet figured out the tile scheme for Yandex so you can only create a single chart from Yandex, you cannot create quilted charts.

I looked at the Sasplanet code to see how they handle having a map of one projection and layer of another, (the Russians got hacked, that's different). So now I have a new version that can have a map at one projection and layer at another and still have them aligned on the resulting chart. So you can create tiled charts quilted or not with different maps and overlays, like a Yandex map and a Navionics layer.

The latest versions of SasPlanet had the Satellite (Google Maps) not working. Here is how to fix it:

- with the Maps set to Satellite (Google Maps) click Settings then Map Settings
- click Internet and if the Version is not 812 make it so.
- then press OK.

I decided to work on some outstanding requests:

First up to now you could not create charts from Sasplanet that spanned the 180 Meridian. This was because SasPlanet was unable to handle downloads across that meridian. I found a way around that: I do a download on each side of the meridian. So now you can create charts that span the 180 meridian using paths/poygons and even tile (but you won't see the other side of the image to be tiled on SasPlanet but it will be in the chart).

Second some users (Geoff) created kmz files that had embedded links to kml files that GE2KAP could not read. Fixed it.

I have also updated my other program C2GPXKML that converts various file formats including GPX and KML to other formats and it also has the above change for embedded links.

Latest nightly version 18.1021.9811 is OK with GE Version 815.
