Heading: Oriental North Carolina

Dear Friends,

I am currently in St. Augustine, FL & will be heading north up the ICW to Oriental NC at the end of October...

I've never done this before, in fact, I have minimal experience on the ICW...

I need help navigating up there, i.e., hazards, bad spots & coming into Pamlico Sound...I heard it's very shallow & can be rough...

Follow the markers. Anchor early and often. Take your time. Check active captn. I've done this several times tho from the opposite direction. Keep your radio vhf on and listen to it. The snow birds will be heading south at that time so lots of opposing traffic so keep a sound maker handy, dont travel at night. If you need a hand just pm me. Thanks and good luck
