Re: ICW At Night Revisited

The ICW is (for most of it) a beautiful waterway. If you are not commercial, it's meant to be enjoyed. If you have a destination schedule, why take it. Go outside as other's have expressed or you may not make your schedule. I agree with making a "plan" but not a " scheduled plan" with arrival date/time. Seldom works.

I live on the St.John's River here in Jacksonville for almost 20 years, somewhat familiar with the ICW but try to enjoy it during the day times if at all possible.

Active Captain is your Best Friend for the ICW along with good charts, electronic or paper.

Enjoy your trip whatever your route may be.

Life is good if you Keepa Smilin.....

Only one REAL straight and long section. Palm Valley Cut, about 10-15 miles south of the ST. Johns river. not only is it a long straight shot but it is also narrow with private docks jutting out to near the channel.

Sure there are other sections but they do have small curves in them, Palm Valley Cut has no curves. whatsoever. for miles.
