I don't want to get into an argument on print verses web, since some us of have different views. The guides we use aren't newspapers and doug's comments are correct in that lots of boaters choose solely electronic media. But the true long distances cruisers still purchase Waterway Guides and Claibornes Guides as well as paper charts, where the folks that stick to local waters tend to carry no more than electronic versions on plotters and mobile devices. Will cruising guide information be available in the near future via electronic media, YOU BET, and stand by. It is already available via our web site, Jeffrey's and Claiborne's as well as Skipper Bob, our also, BTW. The smart cruisers, I would bet Jeffrey included, carry paper charts as well as electronics, electronics do fail. I can't speak for Claiborne but our paper guides are at all time sales even with the tough economic times. But when the PC won't connect and the phone service gets dropped the old guide book and paper charts sure comes in handy. Someone once told me that the guide books, ours or whomever, are the ultimate computer, They are light weight and portable, easily viewed in sunlight, can be moved to any location on the boat. Can't be infected by any viruses and will never crash. I kind of like that. WG
