From my limited experience in that part of the World it’s pretty normal for them to be, been a few years ago, but I believe the Dutch watched TV that was subtitled in Dutch, but the programs were I assume US and in English.
Average person spoke English very well, and many were multi lingual, I remember talking to one Air Air force Officer and she said the first four languages are hard, after that it’s easy,
Who can speak four languages, much less more than four?

Literacy in the US is really getting horrible.

With that many people on board she may be only talking about night time, not on watch?
Besides I don’t know who wrote it, but it’s for a blog right? So you have to wax eloquent about how peaceful and beautiful it is and how you are one with the Earth etc.
Who wants to dream about crossing the North Atlantic in bad weather, freezing your butt off being soaking wet and blowing chunks?

That's night time under way NOT on watch.

I enjoy watching La Vagabonde on YouTube and don’t really care about the miles they claim, though I can see how their miles would ad up given the amount of coastal cruising/island hopping they have done in between passages.
Whether they have sailed 30,000 miles or 100,000 miles they have been a success.

I choose to interpret your question as a serious one (and not in line with the vicious and fatuous comments from a growing number of middle aged know-it-alls here).
Consequently, I'll answer you as follows:
The LA VAGABONDE crew consists of:
The owners of the catamaran; Australian couple Riley Whitelum (35), and Elayna Carausu (26).
Their 11 month old son Lenny.
The other pretty ladies are:
Nikki Henderson, a British professional yachtswoman (26). Last year she became the youngest ever skipper to lead a team in the Clipper Round the World race, winning the silver medal.
Greta Thunberg, a Swedish environmental activist (16)
And finally Svante Thunberg, a Swedish actor (50). He is Greta's father.

Replace the “t” with an “h”.

I agree with you. It has been a truly epic trip so far. Great sailing across the North Atlantic in November with a 11 month old infant on board. I doubt the critics here have sailed anywhere with a child onboard, much less across the North Atlantic in the winter. I have enjoyed watching how well Riley has managed the boat and the crossing.

To paraphrase .....

Whether they have sold 30,000 miles or 100,000 miles they have been a success.

Keep things in context. They are selling a dream and people are buying. Good for them.

What's with the slights about "middle aged" people? Is there a way to find out how old posters are on CF? Do we care? Do you not like people who are older than you? Or is it a dislike for people younger than you? Confused why you think age is relevant here.

Do you know that the two principals actually own the Catamaran? Only if it's public knowledge, of course. I frankly lost interest in their videos after they took leave of their first boat so don't know if they've volunteered info about the relationship (and don't much care). I always figured they had more of a lease-type arrangement with Outremer in exchange for all the publicity, mostly from the YouTube channel I gather. Nothing wrong with that, but this is the first I've heard that they are actual owners. Doesn't matter . . . only curious.
