Magellan dbr

I have Magellan DBR, the boat came with it. It look like an old gps unit.
Is it still useful ? How does it work ?

Half right. It looks like it’s a Beacon Receiver for use with an old GPS. These were used to improve the accuracy of older GPS units by sending local correction data over the old RF beacon stations. Last time I heard, the beacon stations had been shut down.
