We have gone north and south to/from the Channel 5 bridge many times carrying 5 1/2 ft of draft. No problems. The bottom is a bit grassy so it's hard to get accurate depth sounder readings but I believe we've always had at least a foot to spare.

We've had no problem in the pass. Just pay attention to the markers and make the little zig/zag that is required. North of the pass just follow the markers for the various shoals and you'll have a minimum of 7 or 8 feet all the way, usually more.
