Mooring/low maintenance anchorage in Norfolk VA

Looking to get off the boat for a couple of days in Norfolk. Anyone know of anywhere that has some solid moorings or some out of the current anchorage?

My furuno GPS is losing fix last couple of trips.... Comes back on for a while then loses fix again? Any thoughts

Is it on a good cheap mooring? Even better where the OP is interested?

Last Spring I had a week layover in Norfolk and anchored right in front of the Naval Hospital across from battleship row. I believe it was Craford Bay which is actually on the Portsmouth side of the Elizabeth River.
Enterprise rent a car picked me up right at the dinghy dock by the information booth.

The Hospital anchorage fits your requirements but there are two free docks in Portsmouth where you can just step off your boat and walk to shopping and restaurants. You'll probably want to lock your boat though.
