The boat has a compass and a chart plotter and I bought a used cellular iPad to run Navionics on. As I create routes on land here I can see that Navionics is very buggy though.

Buy a chart plotter with relevant charts.
Don't have charts or sextant or Almanac or nav caculator.
Hope that your electronic gadgets never stop working.
I agree. All of the electronic dependent on each other it only takes one to fail.
If someone is so inclined it would seem a single MFG would make sense.
