It’s that small amount of water between the dock and your dinghy when you are getting in/out of it! By far the most dangerous thing boaters do.

There have been at less four people that have die at our marina getting off and on. Also a couple close calls. All during the winter, except one. He hit his head falling off the back of the boat, drinking a beer after a race. I don't know anyone personally who was lost at sea.
