Navionics on ipad without gps

I have navionics on an ipad that doesn't have a GPS.

I've connected the app to the on board raymarine chart plotter and while the ipad gets a position it jumps around and isnt accurate.

Is there a way to use the raymarine GPS location on the ipad or do I need an external GPS?

I played with this a few times on deliveries and never could get it to work. IMHO you need a NMEA2K>WiFi/0183 adapter. That should take all the data on the 2K bus and hang it out on an 0183/WiFi network.

OR get a Vesper AIS with wifi
