Night Vision Binoculars

My Woman doesn't stop talking about Night vision Binoculars. Here in Queensland we have a lot of Dugongs and other wildlife worth watching at night. (Plus navigation use)
I keep saying the only good night vision ones cost a fortune. The others wouldn't be worth buying.
I just say that as we blokes do without ever having tried any. I saw some german made binoculars at around $2500.Hmmm....
I would love to know what you smart people think on that subject.
Cheers
Reiner

The cheap ones are not worth having. The good ones are thousands of dollars. If you can't fight the urge to get night-vision, make sure you buy from a reputable source that has a no-questions return policy.

Have you tried looking through standard 7x50 binos at night? They do much better than the human eye.

G'DAy Reiner,

You might point out to Sam that the night vision thingies don't work underwater, so watching the Dugongs would be hard!

Cheers,

Jim

Whitworths sell some night vision 7x42's for $799

https://www.whitworths.com.au/main_i...AbsolutePage=1

I also considered a Night vision rifle scope as I fine looking through one eye easier than using binoculars

Hi Jim :-)
We saw Dugongs floating at the surface at night I think that is what Sam is looking for. There is no way she would dive in Moreton Bay. There is more Bull sharks than Bream and Flathead together around here.

cheers
Reiner
PS Where are you right now?

Reiner...

I knew that there was a lot of BS around Moreton Bay, but I didn't know that it stood for Bull Shark!

And our location now is still on the Pittwater, various spots, 'cause Ann had surgery on both knees just before xmas, and we need to be near the physio in Mona Vale twice a week for some time to come. She's making progress, but it is a slow process. Looks like Tassie ain't gonna happen this year... well, maybe a short trip late in the summer. Who knows, but getting her back into fighting trim is the most important thing right now.

Cheers,
Jim

I can't believe she needed surgery... I have seen 30 year olds who couldn't scale the back of a boat as quickly, or to sit on couch with legs tucked under as easily. Send her our best and looking forward to seeing her out and about
