Online Chart Viewer (Free)

Hi, I've been beta testing this online charts viewer (link below) since last couple of weeks.
I hope some of you can use it to double check against your primary navigation charts.

Coastal data is primarily from official Hydrographic offices. So it would be CHS for Canada, UKHO for UK etc. Inland rivers and lakes is derived from user Sonar log uploads, private surveys and thousands of local agencies. You can record your own Sonar logs with an iOS client.

Only charts for the US, Brazil, New Zealand and the inland canals in Europe are non encrypted.

The UK and my country Australia stupidly decided to restrict open access to charts for commercial reasons.

How would this free viewer access restricted charts?

Why look a gift horse in the mouth?

It does
i-Boating : Free Marine Navigation Charts & Fishing Maps
As does navionics in the post above.
Handy as double checks.

Most likely add new lakes/regions/features etc.

1. Bulk of the feedback revolves around new lakes/regions etc.

2. Depth Shading: Useful to highlight depth areas when navigating inland waterways. For e.g New Jersey Coastal Waterway is currently shaded with one color.

3. Water level offset: Most reservoirs have depth contours at full pool elevation. The ability to apply an offset would be useful to account into changes in water level.

4. Plenty of feedback revolved around GPX, KML, routes, waypoints, tides, currents, weather etc.

@leftbrainstuff and @conachair Their business model is to charge for a native Windows/Mac/iPhone/Android application with GPS & AIS integration.
The web viewer lets their customers see the quality of maps before they make the actual purchase.

You can add them to your website as well.

[LIST][*][URL="http://fishing-app.gpsnauticalcharts.com"]Online Chart Viewer (North America, Europe & AUS/NZ)

When I tried to download the chart viewer in the APP store, I just get the round circle spinning thing and it spins without doing anything. I see the $19.99 option on the same page.

Is this one of those "price leader" things to get you in the store and then does the hook and switch thing to get you to buy the other item?

It does look just like the charts I use here in the Gulf of Mexico area.
