Pamlico Sound

My wife and I will be sailing our PDQ36 from Maryland to St. Augustine for the 1st time..
I'm wondering about the advantages or disadvantages of sailing through Pamlico Sound to the Neuse River rather than taking the ICW.

Re: Pamlico Sound

If you have good wind, you can save time going on the Pamlico.

Unfortunately, your mast will force you to detour to the east of Roanoke Island. Thank you NCDoT.
