After our Panama Transit in March, we plan to cruise around Las Perlas and the provinces of Darien, such as the rivers Rio Congo, Rio Sucio, Rio Tuira and the tribes. Looking at the noonsite, the notes were published in 2015 and not much latest information.

Did anyone cruise these rivers in this Darien region? We will not go to the Darien Gap but would like to know if it is still safe to cruise around in the rivers on our boat.

We would loved to explore Darien but didn't have time. Eric Bauhaus "The Panama Cruising Guide" covers the area extensively. The fifth edition is 2015, so the security situation may have changed.
