Raymarine E120 and PC Connection

Was wondering if anyone has had success at connecting a PC to the Raymarine Legacy E120. I would like to use a PC to do my course planning, and then send the course to the E120 over ethernet (vs swapping CF cards) using Voyage Planner, but unable to get the PC to see the E120. Tried using SeaTalk HS and my own switch. Have read that I need a straight through ethernet cable, tried that as well as normal one. No success. My Goal is to allow better/easier course plotting at home on a better tool, and then fast easy data transfer to the plotter. Any tips out there to make this work? Or suggestions on a better solution.
