If you take it slow, enjoy the cruising, and sail to Mother Nature's schedule then its an easy run. This is esp true of the N bound route.

The return trip can be more easily sailed in a single leg of 3-4 days from SW FL if you choose. Below is a weather routing from earlier this year departing from the Dry Tortugas. It avoids most of the contrary currents by rounding near the W tip if Cuba then heading S...this keeps you out of the N flowing Yucatan current. It would need to be updated with the most recent current data.
