route plans via AIS?

Does anyone have links or info about transmitting route information via AIS? I didn't know it was a thing, but this morning I noticed a new track displayed on my charts (see attachments). I can see this being useful, but also creating a great deal of clutter.

Re: route plans via AIS?

Thanks! That fills in the details; all I had found were projects to use AIS data to generate routing information. Hadn't seen strange routes pop up on my screen before.
