SAR Patterns

In am a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and an instructor in Search Coordination and Execution. I have a few comments:
1. The expanding square and vector patterns are executed correctly.
2. There is no distinction between Datum and commence search point (CSP)--they can be different.
3. The parallel patters is NOT executed correctly. The first leg does not start at Datum (and there is no commence search point--see #2 above).
4. The pattern ends with an extra cross-leg (it should not).
5. The tab for the parallel pattern says "trackline". The trackline search is DIFFERENT than the parallel search.
6. The oil rig search is new to me. Having it is fine, but it is not an official Coast Guard pattern.
