Try reading a couple of Stephen Hawkings books. They get a bit deep, wont make you and expert but will give you a working knowledge of all this stuff.

A turning point for me was at the end of one of his books where he posed the rhetorical question, "Yeah. But what was before the first Big Bang?"

To paraphrase, He said science does not preclude the existence of God but a belief in God does not preclude the continued search for knowledge.

Good enough for me, until something else is discovered...

Totally agree Ex-Calif.

For 15 years I've been saying faith and reason are not in conflict. And only an incomplete understanding of one or the other leads one to believe they are.

I'm not the first to believe this though, it's just not common.
