Re: VENDÉE GLOBE round the world race

Hi all..

A lot of commotion in connection with the race seen from Marinetraffic´s AIS app. Cant´s see so many of the race participants though?

See the optimized route for today (qtVlm)

Fair winds!!

Re: VENDÉE GLOBE round the world race

Just woke up. Got to get going! Will be gone today in 30 min! What a dilema. Good Luck Hartmut. I am probably behind already. Thanks Maitai. Good luck to you too. What's your boa? Maitai?

Yes, that's my boat.

VLM servers are a bit slow due to success but nothing is broken, and things should go better shortly.

Re: VENDÉE GLOBE round the world race

Thanks Tore, that's very helpful routing. Hope to get more familiar with OpenCPN - qtVLM Integration now.

Re: VENDÉE GLOBE round the world race

Gough Island Gate does not look right to me.
How the devil do I get started? I can't find the start!!
I think it is located at 46.419, -1.734
I'd like to just Move the boat there.

Re: VENDÉE GLOBE round the world race

Rick if your boat is registered in the race you are placed on the start point automatically. You cannot move your boat yourself in VLM mode, of course.

Re: VENDÉE GLOBE round the world race

I just made a Start Mark and put in the coordinates. It appears my boat already started automatically because I had signed up. Now I must navigate it. Its currently in Ortho Mode headed 276 to 46d 25' N 17d31' w

Yes. Our crew is on duty so no worries. There are problems to connect but your boat is still moving as it should. Things will get better soon.

Re: VENDÉE GLOBE round the world race

Now there's a red buttion on VLM Sync and it appears I've been docked 15 minutes for stranding. Nowhere near land. Tried to send instructions to Piiloto and it froze up, can't get on server. I must have violated something.

Thanks Maitai, for the note. I'll just be patient and log in later. I think we've got a logjam going on right now. So more commands won't help.

Re: VENDÉE GLOBE round the world race

None of the Vendée Globe email adresses are working. You are invited to add your name and that´s it,no further link? Just wanted to tell them the weather forecast in their app does not work. Can somebody in France please phone them?
