wxtiles for google earth?

Discovered this website WXTiles | Weather overlays for GoogleMaps and OpenLayers that has free kml downloads for google earth showing a host of current and forecast weather information for the entire world. Being a passage making newbie, but with all that about to change very soon, this looks like a great tool for at least studying world weather patterns for dummies and maybe even as a tool for passage planning (Internet bandwidth permitting, of course).

Opinions?

P.s. I have no affiliation with the above site whatsoever, it just looks like a cool use of google earth from a cruising perspective.
