Yellow banks, Exumas

HI everyone,
Have a question regarding transiting around yellow banks in Exumas. Currently anchored in spanish wells and intend sailing south to highbourbe cay via Fleeming Channel. Intend skirting around yellow banks to the west, in between white and yellow banks and heading south and then south east.

Is this a safe route? If someone has cruised over these waters then I would be grateful to hear some advice and tips for safe navigation.

Thanks

You don't have to go between the White and Yellow from the Fleeming Channel to get to Highborne. From Fleeming go towards Little Ship Channel Cay or Roberts Cay and then run down the chain to Highborne. If you have Explorer Charts you'll see the route clearly. I don't have my charts here but have gone from Ship Channel to Royal Island many times through the Fleeming Channel.

There is no need to go west.

Last time I went from the Exumas through the Fleming Channel it was a nice clear day so I checked out many of the coral heads for depth. All the ones I saw were at least 7 feet MLW. That's not to say there can't be any shallower ones. With sun, the coral heads are very easy to see in that area in my experience.
