Re: A Damn Mouse

With all this food your rat is going to have a very merry Christmas. Perhaps you could put out a little Trifle and some wine too

Don't get your hopes up- One doesn't expect any creatures to be stirring tonight...not even a mouse.

No movement of any type yesterday. Two days in a row of nothing, now with bacon traps.

Starting to sound that your food budget is going into support of the mouse/rat.

Kind of like fatting up the cow?

You know it is remotely possible that it left. The last time I heard from it, it was upside down on a sticky trap and left a ton of hair and fuzz behind.

I'm prepped to kill but I'm harboring a hope that it's back to living on the (poisoned) dock.

Re: A Damn Mouse

On British men-o-war during the Napoleonic era, rats were caught and sold to the midshipmen's mess, which greatly enjoyed the fresh meat.

Yummy alternative to Vegamite.

You wouldn't kill these little creatures, would you? After all it's Christmas.

actually I've heard dog's are VERY interested in it. From one of many stories:
"Last fall, I saw several pets at my animal hospital that had been poisoned. As the cooler weather rolls in each year, vermin (mice and other rodents) seek shelter and warmth indoors.
Home owners put out bait to control the mice and rats, assuming their pet won’t or can’t get into it. Even pet owners who hide the bait around their homes can wind up with a poisoned dog or cat."

Re: A Damn Mouse

Rebel,
What you need is one of these. That's why they were brought out of Africa, to chase rodents aboard chinese ship. His hearing and smelling capabilities are above average, being very nocturnal.
