Caribbean Safety and Security Net update

From the Caribbean Safety and Security Net site -

Discontinuation of the daily HF net
2014-03-31
Effective APRIL 1st 2014 the Caribbean Safety and Security Net (CSSN) will discontinue the daily HF voice net on 8104 at 0815 HRS. Despite the interest in the net that was indicated in the user survey, actual participation rates were too low to make the effort required to sustain the net worthwhile. Many thanks to Harm Brink of S/V Horta who served as net controller for the last two years, and to all those who participated.
Safety and Security reports will continue to be accepted and published on this website, so bookmark and check the site regularly for the latest important NEWS and incident reports. The CSSN team has many new site features under development, which will add new functions and further improve the user experience, so check back often !

Just wanted to post an update to those who use their services.

Re: Caribbean Safety and Security Net update

Notice is still up. Appears to NOT have been an April Fools Day event.

Re: Caribbean Safety and Security Net update

Thank you Don for bringing this up.

Is there anyone in the Caribbean who can confirm this who has a ham?

That's a bummer hearing if it is really no more. I'm still getting my license and will have a ham on board.

wandering and wondering around with no destionation
