Document Folder Question

Hello,

Just completed my ASA 101 & 103 classes and getting the 104 scheduled. I have my ASA log Book and most blogs and videos say things about having paperwork in order.

I am wondering if there is a go to binder, plastic sleeve, or "item" that helps organize the paperwork while keeping it safe and dry.

I am not looking for the "has to be sold by Boat Shop" item or the latest tacticool military grade item that costs a fortune. If a simple school kid grade document folder works well, so be it, just wondering if there is a better way to ask now.

Want to keep the documents safe, secure, dry, and available.

Thank you

Re: Document Folder Question

I am in a similar position (101/103 completed in 2021, now spending more of this season than I’d like refitting a $5k Catalina 25) and my plan is to use just any old plastic folder and keep it in a small dry bag in the quarter berth magazine rack once I have her back in the water. I’m interested to see what other recommendations arise, though!

Re: Document Folder Question

I use a standard 3 ring binder for my boats documents with the plastice sleeves for each document. I have the tabbed dividers. I have also put most of my manuals in these binders. I hae made various covers sheed for the binder wlisting what is in each one.
