HERO Liftrafts

Hi guys (and gals)

Currently we have a Zodiac off-shore liferaft. Unfortunately, Zodiac exited the leisure market for liferafts a few years ago and it is getting harder and harder to get this one serviced. The service shop here on Martinique offered to sell us a new raft - brand HERO.

Aside for the fact that they calim it meets all ISO standards and is RINA approved, there seems to be no other agency approvals (Veritas or something like it)

I seem unable to google to any independent testing.

Does anyone know more about this brand of liferaft? Any independent tests?

thanks

carsten

Our books have gotten 5 star reviews on Amazon. Several readers have written "I never thought I would go on a circumnavigation, but when I read these books, I was right there in the cockpit with Vinni and Carsten"

Re: HERO Liftrafts

Have you clicked any of those links on the Hero site?
For example, "service and dealers" leads me to a broken link (error page). Are they broken for you as well

It looks like they are RINA certified, but I would also like to know where I can get it for recertification and/or warranty.

You're right, though, I had a minute and couldn't find much RL data and experience with this product, which just gives them another tick in the Cons row.
