Katadyn Survivor 06

We have had a Katadyn Survivor 06 in our ditch bag for 12 years. It was serviced in 2009 and again in 2018. The last service by Katadyn included a new membrane and actuator. Unfortunately, Katadyn/Spectra will not service the unit again because it is more than 12 years old. Does anybody know how likely it is that the unit will still make potable water?

Alternatively, if I test it by using it, how do I re-pickle it?
