Lady’s foul wx jacket

Going to buy my wife a jacket for sailing. For cool weather of 40’s to 60’s. Do these come with built in fleece, or do i just buy a size up and get fleece separately? Any fav brands?

It’s almost always preferable to layer up.
Lot’s more flexibility.

Coastal or offshore use?

For coastal, my wife and I are happy with WM’s “Third Reef” foulies. Not the cheapest, but still reasonably priced and quite long-lasting, plus you can multi-layer underneath if need be, and use in various weather conditions — including obviously rain, which not all “sailing” jackets tolerate well.

If you are searching for fancier-looking stuff, plenty to choose from out there. I personally like HH and Slam; we own a couple of these jackets (with and without fleece), which we usually wear more when getting off the boat than while sailing…

For clarity — I have no personal interest in any of this brands.

THanks for the comments. I just popped for a HH sailing model, in white. Hoping the size is true. Now need to find pants. She has an initial aversion for bib's for some reason. BUt, they do seem more functional.
