Thanks for the info. I had not really considered this idea but it certainly has merit. I actually know someone who gave some lectures in Grenada. I'll ask him what he thinks of the hospital there and post the response. In all liklihood we will be in the Carribean.
Do you (or anyone else) know whether a US registered physician could write a perscription in any of these places and have it filled? I have experience with central america but not the carribean.

If you will be out of the US for 6 months or more, IMIS offers cruising medical insurance through a couple of companies. You can get quotes on line. Go to IMIS Online Services and scroll down to International Medical Plans.
