New MOB Device?

Anyone seen this:

What is a Nautilus LifeLine

?

Yet another $300 device which only covers one of the three types of emergency comms which one might need overboard (or in the life raft).

When are we going to get a SINGLE device which will do:

1. Satellite PLB
2. MOB AIS
3. DSC VHF radio

?

I carry 1 & 2 on my person at all times at sea, and would sure like to have less bulk and weight.

Cushion me soft . . . . rock me in billowy drowse,
Dash me with amorous wet . . . . I can repay you."

Actually Dockhead, this should be a relatively simple device to build (all the elements are well known)

If you know a really competent electronics engineer or guru, he should be able to make a prototype without much ado.

Thereafter - you just nedd to patent it and then either go peddle it to one of the big manufacturers or start your own company

Our books have gotten 5 star reviews on Amazon. Several readers have written "I never thought I would go on a circumnavigation, but when I read these books, I was right there in the cockpit with Vinni and Carsten"

Re: New MOB Device?

while the combo does sound nifty, if you should lose this device, you've lost ALL your comms. Redundancy isn't the worst thing in the world
