Re: Stocking up the Firstaid Kit - Mexico or Panama?

Cant get a prescription filled here in the US of A for a boat, unless it's named after a person (eg Tom Waves, Sally Seashells), but could get prescriptions filled for your pet, done that before....
Rick I would not recommend having anticoagulants on board (eg coumadin, etc) unless someone on board has been under a doctor's care as they have a rather narrow therapeutic window, aka dosing for benefit is very close to dosing too much..
Another wound option could be betadine, redish external, topical solution, that is very good antiseptic. May have been the stuff in the syringe mentioned earlier.
Last, Rick, if you do have a prescription that needs filling here in the states, you can check with local non-chain pharmacy, explain your situation, and offer to pay cash. The pharmacist/owner will have more latitude around pricing so for generic drugs you can get a supply for a reasonable $$ not $90 for a handful of meds that cost him pennies. This will probably not be an option for analgesics (aka codeine, etc) thnks

Since this is a medical thread, one should know that ivermectin has no benefit to COVID patients. It has been exhaustively studied and whatever you saw otherwise means you should ignore that source. To deal with COVID, one should be vaccinated and seek real medical advice if they do contract it.
