best anti-fouling for fresh water rivers/canals vs salt

hi everyone,

i'm posing this question for someone who is planning to take his boat to the canals/rivers (in Europe) and is looking to get the anti-fouling done beforehand.

i've read input here and there about how some anti-fouling reacts in the tropics as opposed to cold weather, etc, but haven't seen much information about fresh vs. salt water anti-fouling experiences.

perhaps there is no difference....

so if anyone has any experience/advice that may prove valuable, it would be most appreciated.

I don't know. We have sometimes gone up rivers into fresh water and had ocean biofouling drop off.

One way to find out could be is to ask a peniche charter company what they use on their boats.
