Eva Foam Teak for top side

Hey anyone have experience with EVA foam teak?

Its from China on sites like Alibaba and banggood. Now amazon is carrying it.

My topside needs a fresh coat of paint and I'm considering this material.

Anyone out there brave enough to try this stuff out??

i recently bought some thinking it would be nice for the floors inside the boat, but when it arrived i found it has 3mm by 8mm grooves between the fake foam teak strips
.my wife vetoed it as it would be hard to clean inside without washing down with a hose.

the adhesive backing looked good but rolled up it might be difficult to layflat ,and stays fairly stiff as well,as it is quite cold here.
it would probably be better in higher temperatures as the material would be more plyable.

on a powerboat or small yacht it would probably be nice and soft underfoot, and on seats etc
but bear in mind it is foam like what flip flops are made of so probably not that long lasting.

we tried to send it back and had good contact with the company in hong kong who have an arrangement in the uk to send it out quickly in the uk.
eventually the company refunded our money and told us to keep the 6 rolls we had bought,as they had no way of dealing with returned stock in the uk

so if you want to pay the shipping i have 6 rolls 2mx90cm going cheap!

I've seen the comparison video. I have no doubt the PVC teak is better quality. For the cost, I would just paint the deck. EVA is reasonably priced and thats the only reason I'd consider it

PVC teak is $35 - $55 a square foot compared to $3 a square foot of EVA foam

EVA foam is not for the faint hearted , it is difficult to clean, as per Atolls comments of grooves , it stains very easily i.e oil, redwine, etc it is cheap for a reason !! does not line up properly if trying to get the black lines , I have now stripped the cabin of it as its not practical , PVC is the way to go IMHO

Totally agree!

Also, don't discount genuine teak - the stuff that grows and is harvested from plantations.

Ours has seen eight seasons so far and looks pretty well as new (we apply Semco once a year, or sometimes once every two years).

???
The Top Teak brand is $14.30 per square foot, in Aus dollars, from what I can tell. PlasDeck, from Ohio, is $17.50/sf.
