F-11 Top Coat to prevent ICW Stain - it works!

So traveling down the ICW everyone seems to get the staining on the bow like this:

I was asked by several people why I cleaned my boat… I didn't. In fact it wasn't cleaned for over a year on the hull. My trick is this, F11 Top Coat. I wash, on/off gel if needed, then wax and THEN I spray this stuff on the hull TWICE. Go down one side, then the other. Have a beer break. Do it again.

The result? NO, ZERO, NADA, ICW Mustache staining. ZERO!

The bow pic is from Hilton Head Island, some 560 miles down and over a year since I washed and applied it and this includes an entire season in the Chesapeake Bay which is nasty water as well.

Here's a pic of the stern. You can see here where I didn't apply it and notice the swim platform step is stained after only 3 weeks. I should apply it to the swim step but it's only under water when I'm pushing the engine, thus pushing the bow up and the stern deep.

Lesson learned, apply it everywhere the tannin soaked water will touch.

Buy F11 Topcoat from Amazon here (I have an associate account so I get a few pennies but seriously this stuff works)

I haven't noticed any major soot issues.

Dingy bottom... Heck, I gotta try that!!

It's easier to get the black streaks off. Can use boat soap and salt water to rinse it away. Haven't had to use black streak remover since last October.

The Material Safety Data Sheet states it is polydimethylsiloxane which is fluid silicone

Interesting,

On line I found this test with F11 reveiw.

It seems F11 is Marketing hyped for the general market. Not saying your a participant, granted as boats could be another result as you say water stains.

Thanks Kryg
