Force 10 Broiler

Not sure if this is the correct forum to post this.

I have a Force 10 3 burner range and oven. Does not see very heavy use. I have used the broiler maybe 5 times since I installed the unit about 3 years ago.

The broiler unit has a sort of ceramic honeycomb diffuser about 6 month ago their was a white powder substance that would drop onto the oven dishes. This happened while using the oven not broiling. When I looked inside the honeycomb unit was cracked and parted in the middle. Last week on half fell into the oven so I removed the other half, just pulled it out of the bracket that held it in place.

I called the Force 10 people and they said I needed to purchase a complete broiler unit.

My question have you other Force 10 owners had the same thing happen. If you did replace the unit did the replacement hold up over time. It could be that the ceramic piece was broken and I missed it on the original install or is this a common thing to break on these oven.

Re: Force 10 Broiler

Same thing happened with mine when it was brand new. ForceTen replaced the part but I never installed it as we don't use the broiler and it takes up too much space in the small oven. The replacement broiler is deep in my cockpit locker somewhere. Poor design.

Did you remove the whole broiler unit or just the damaged ceramic piece. I wonder how the broiler would work without the ceramic piece any idea.

Thanks Jack

We had so many problems with the broilers in boat stoves we just removed them altogether! and use the on deck BBQ, works better anyway ! Just our 2 cents

The whole unit. Now we can get a decent sized bird in the oven.

Re: Force 10 Broiler

My broiler lights ok, runs for a few minutes and then poof! It blows itself out. I can then relight it and it runs ok but makes an angry sputtering sound. Has anyone else had this happen.?

Re: Force 10 Broiler

MVDarlin,

Ours, after a number of years of use, has just started doing the same thing. Did you find a solution? We have solved our burner problems on the stove top, but can't find any info about the broiler. I love my broiler, and I want it back!

Anyone have any broiler maintenance suggestions?

Thanks
Sherry
