Iridium Go Service Plans

An Iridium Go unit came with the boat that I just purchased. I'd like to activate the unit and use it as another means of communications in addition to VHF and HF. There seems to be several service providers with largely similar plans. Does anyone have any experiences with specific providers?

Having bought such a gizmo myself lately I think there are no "virtual" providers as there are with 3G/4G phones. There are representatives for Iridium but I would be surprised if they can compete amongst each other.
Maybe on selling hardware and certain conditions, but the service/subscripton fees are charged by Irirdium.

We will be using the thing this summer only, so we decided to have the unlimited data subscription for the summer only. After that we will probably sell the unit. The costs of an all year-round subscription are very high. And suspending a subscription is not attractive due to the silly re-activation costs.
So when we are in need of Satphone again, we'll take it from there to see what is attractive.
