Kato Yachts Japan

I am considering the purchase of a 1974 Kato Yacht built in Japan circa ~1974.

This is ~36 foot aluminum sloop that started out with plywood decks. Starting about 2005 it under went a massive renovation in which an aluminum deck was welded in place of the plywood.

The only references to Kato Yachts that I have been able to find is:

...and I have come up with very little when searching for similar boat.

If anyone is familiar with the manufacturer or has experience with Kato Yachts, I would be interested in asking a few specific questions.

I am looking at buying a 30 foot sloop here in Guam. I am told that it is a KATO Design. I have no way of verifying. Do you know anything such as where would find the hull numbers? It looks to be in near original condition, although I am not sure what is original on this boat. It may be possibly built in 1973.
