oat wax for brown scum

We are moored in the western part of Long Island sound and we always end up with a couple of inches of brown scum on the gelcoat. I am looking for anyone who has used a wax that helps alleviate this or at least makes it easy to clean. someone suggested a wax with Teflon such as Star Bight Marine Polish. Anyone have a good experience with anything? Love to hear from LIS sailors.
Thanks
