Re: Schenker Watermaker

I have one! Mine had an "issue" when new....the no return valves failed to seat. I ended up disassembling the unit at least 20 times, replacing seals, no return valves, etc. I finally installed soft stainless steel springs to force the valves to close and the unit has worked properly for 3 years. Schenker sent me numerous kits to install, the assembly manual, answered my emails promptly, etc. Still I fixed the problem by modifying the design and adding the springs. It has worked perfectly since then and is very energy efficient. Note Spectra users have experienced the same problems but the customer service is bad (at the factory...not the reps in the field).
One more note...Every 3 to 6 months you must disassemble the entire clark pump and put silicon grease on the piston and seals.

Re: Schenker Watermaker

I made my own using a petrol pressure washer and 2x 2" x 40 " membranes, i get 150 litres of fresh water and hour. It cost under $2,000 and I would not be without it. You must use clear salt water.

Re: Schenker Watermaker

Exactly, Many articles on it. Trick is making sure your flushing your membranes by moving enough water, and fresh water flush religiously.

Re: Schenker Watermaker

I have a Schenker 35l/hr unit and it works very well.
Only draws about 9 A...has to be the most efficient in terms of Amps per litre.
Its easy to use, easy to maintain ..was easy to install, and when I have needed assistance or explanation, Riccardo at Schenker was always helpful.
Like any device it needs to be installed properly and looked after properly.
I have a 20 micron filter on the raw ater intake followed by a 5 micron before it enters the membranes. I have a 20 micron carbon impregnated filter on the fresh water flushing line.
While Schenker reccomend a fresh water flush only very few days, I run a one minute fresh water flush at the end of every running cycle....it certainly extends the time between cleaning cycles by weeks.

So I can tell you I am a happy Schenker customer !
