Stack Pack

Sailors,

Over this winter I'm going to have a "stack pack" made for my 1980 Tartan 37 mainsail.

There is a Doyle and North sail loft in my area. Which have you found to work best, Doyle or North. The cost is about the same. I'm interested in quality and most of all easiest to use from the cockpit.

Will you all comment and share your thoughts, both pro and con for both North and/or Doyle?

Thank you, Capt Anthony

You'll find no consistent brand difference between them. This is a pretty standard piece of gear, and both lofts will have built lots of them.

Any quality difference will be due to the skill of the canvas crew at the local loft.

Re: Stack Pack

There are a lot of customization that can happen with stack packs to meet your individual boat, sailing needs, etc.

I would go to each loft and ask to speak to "the salesman who really knows stack packs". Then I'd pick the one that asked me the best questions and offered the best advice.

The actual build quality between both of them will be largely the same.
